Today, Thursday will start with some clouds in the southern half. North of the Alps, however, the sun will shine frequently. In the day, a nice mix of sun and clouds will develop across the country, only from the southern Alps to the Wechsel region as well as in the Mühlviertel and Waldviertel; more compact clouds will move through. Except for a few thundery showers south of the main ridge of the Alps, it will remain dry. The wind will be moderate, with valley wind systems dominating the Alps—highs between 19 and 26 degrees.
First 28 degrees, then warm thunderstorms over Austria
On Friday, a few clouds will remain along the northern Alps and the inner Alps, but the day will start optimistically. In the morning, spring clouds will develop over the mountains. Showers will fall in the western mountains and the Waldviertel and Mühlviertel. In the south, there may be a short thunderstorm. However, it will remain predominantly dry in the southeast with a nice mix of sun and clouds. With a moderate northerly wind, highs will range between 19 and 25 degrees.
Saturday will start with many clouds along the Northern Alps and showers from the Außerfern to the Mariazellerland. It will also become more unsettled in the day from the Mühlviertel over the eastern edge of the Alps to the south with rain showers. Thunder and lightning are also possible. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from west to northwest. The high temperature will range between 19 and 27 degrees.
